WAKEFIELD RURITAN CLUB HONORS THREE DECEASED MEMBE

WAKEFIELD, VA, MAY 17, 2006: The Wakefield Ruritan Club recently honored Judge Carlton E. Holladay, Marvin Lee Gray and James N. Savedge as Ruritan’s Forever.
With the establishment of these three Ruritan Forever endowments, the Wakefield Club honored two Past Ruritan National Presidents, Judge Carlton E. Holladay-1934, Marvin Lee Gray-1938 & 1939, and James N. Savedge Sr. who worked with them organizing new clubs and increasing membership in existing Clubs. Mr. Savedge also held the office of Mayor for the Town of Wakefield from 1962 to 1976.
The Ruritan Forever endowment establishes a perpetual memorial to the organization that brings honor and recognition to Past National Presidents and other deserving persons from the various Clubs who have contributed time, money, lots of effort, and hard work in helping to increase membership in existing Clubs and to organize new Clubs. Due to the hard work of these persons, Ruritan is now a highly respected and very recognized Community Service Organization.
Ruritan National is a civic organization consisting of local Ruritan Clubs. Since 1928 Ruritan has been dedicated to improving communities and building a better place to live through fellowship, goodwill and community service. Ruritan National has its home office in Dublin, VA and has 33,000 Ruritans serving in over 1,200 clubs in 24 states.

The Wakefield Ruritan Club is pleased to announce that Winston Britt has been selected as the Wakefield Ruritan Club 2007 Ruritan of the Year. Mr. Britt has been a member of the Wakefield Ruritan Club for 22 years with 21 years of Perfect Attendance. The Ruritan of the Year Award is presented annually to recognize a deserving member for their work in the Club and the Community.
